London —C5 Accelerate, a London, Washington, and Bahrain based technology investment firm, will be hosting its first Impact Investing Summit on 7 May 2019 at Bird & Bird LLP. The one-day Summit will bring together impact investors, innovators, thought-leaders and entrepreneurs from the public and private sector driven by a common purpose to achieve sustainable change. The Summit will explore the case for impact investing, the role of public and private sectors in creating an ecosystem for success, and the need to set industry standards.

Andre Pienaar, Founder of C5, stated, “We are bringing together a number of terrific founders from around the world, all of whom are grappling with real-world problems and using technology and innovation to create change. C5 strongly believes in harnessing the power of cloud technology and venture capital to accomplish this.” Speakers will include Ashley King-Bischoff, co-founder of Annona; Jesus Alvarado, founder of Time Control Technologies; Opeyemi Akinwoleola, co-founder of DropQue; John Jaeger, co-founder of Hala Systems; Fonta Gilliam, co-founder of Invest Sou Sou; Miishe Addy, founder of Jetstream; Ibraheem Babalola, co-founder of Muster; Laila Akel, founder of RedCrow; Sandra Sassow, co-founder of SEaB Energy; Timothy Kotin, co-founder of Superfluid Labs; Karina Grosheva, founder of TaQadam; and many more.

Eva-Maria Dimitriadis, Chief Operating Officer at C5 Accelerate, commented, “We are in a new investment paradigm. Where there has traditionally been a clear distinction between investment and philanthropy, in the past decade we have seen them combining in the form of impact investing. Ultra-High Net Worths, family offices, and institutional investors are increasingly seeking investment opportunities that generate both a financial and social or environmental return – often referred to as the double bottom line. “At C5 Accelerate we celebrate innovators that are harnessing technology to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. As the startups that are tackling these challenges grow, it is vital we are providing an ecosystem that allows them to thrive. Through the Impact Investing Summit 2019, we will connect like-minded people to discuss how we can ensure the right infrastructure is in place to ensure this type of investing can grow.”

Tickets are available from £150, and early bird tickets are available until 15 March.
